Final Vocabulary

1. Macro - close up; enlarged photo; zoomed on subject (usually small items)

2. ISO - measures the sensitivity of the image sensor

3. Aperture - how much light is allowed into the photo; the smaller the Aperture, the more light.

4. Shutter Speed - how fast the camera is opening and closing the lens; high shutterspeed is good for sports photos and quick action shots.

5. Triptych - a work of art divided into 3 sections

6. Metadata - a collection of all stored data; describes other data

7. DPI. ( dots per inch, pixels per inch) - a measure of printing; dot density

8. PPI ( pixels per inch) - measure of resolution; a measure of pixel density

9. Depth of Field- the distance between the nearest and the farthest objects in a scene

10. Exposure - the amount of light allowed to fall on each area unit
